We are delighted to be part of a consortium led by Liverpool John Moore’s University which aims to help manufacturing businesses use technology to increase productivity and innovation. Our role will be to provide support to businesses that want to develop smarter products, processes, and supply chains through the adoption of new technologies.
LJMU Strategic Manager for Liverpool City Region 4.0, Anthony Walker explains,
“The collection of world-class expertise in the project is focused on improving the competitiveness of our local SMEs and the focus is providing the ‘right’ support at the ‘right’ time to really make an impact on manufacturing and associated organisations in Liverpool City Region.”
Known as Industry 4.0, or the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR), the concept focuses on the digitisation of physical assets and the integration of digital eco-systems with value chain partners. The dedicated LCR 4.0 team will help SMEs explore the potential of 4IR by providing a range of bespoke expert services around research & development, knowledge exchange and the acceleration of ideas from concept to commercialisation.
Partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), LCR 4.0 creates a collaborative community that connects SMEs to those service providers who can offer their expertise and intensive support. Several distinct sub-groups have been set up to focus on specific areas of innovation relating to the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as cyber security, supply chain and digital manufacturing.
As such, we will act as an advisor to SMEs seeking solutions to their manufacturing challenges and embrace the benefits of digital transformation, process automation or business intelligence. Simon Crump, our Founder & Technical Director, feels the programme is the right fit,
“For over 30 years, we have been developing bespoke systems for a wide range of businesses. Whether creating a more powerful and efficient invoicing system from complex data or creating web services and database architecture to improve employee communications, we know RGS can offer so much to small businesses.”
Considered a UK manufacturing first, this programme puts Liverpool City Region at the heart of a manufacturing evolution. We are pleased to be part of this transformational innovative project for businesses. To learn more about how our services can help improve productivity, please click here.
